The Dogs Butcher ensure they source ethically sourced British meats. They wont buy none stunned, Halal slaughter or intensively farmed meat and all poultry products are free range. Where possible they use quality, locally sourced ingredients from near TDB HQ in Devon.

Their produce is sourced from abattoirs that they have worked with for a number of years and regularly visit. They believe this is crucial to the ethos of their products as they can investigate where the animals are sourced and be sure that they have lived a good life and monitor the conditions that the animals and our end product go through at every stage of the process.

Natural products, here’s what you need to know

The meat is a different colour or texture – Meat varies in colour and texture due to the age of an animal and seasons.

Meat smells – Some meats smell stronger than others. Check the ingredients in the minces. Purely lamb and Purely ox does contain tripe, those will smell strong.

Fat – TDB have a fat analysis done on every product, but this is an approximate analysis, as all animals contain different amounts of fat. Lean proteins will be lean but still not completely free of fat.
