These quails are ex-layers, meaning they have previously been used in the laying industry to harvest eggs. Quail meat is a rich source of calcium and phosphorus, great for improving bone strength and health.

Birds are a natural prey item for species of cat, lizard, and other birds. Care must be taken when feeding larger animals to smaller birds as the big bones can be a danger and should be broken up.
