These are egg laying ducks who have reached the end of their egg production. Duck meat is a great source of protein. It is also very rich in iron, which dogs need.

Birds are a natural prey item for species of cat, lizard, and other birds. Care must be taken when feeding larger animals to smaller birds as the big bones can be a danger and should be broken up.
